On April 10, we attended a conference at the Sejm at the invitation of Monika Wielichowska, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. As the OliEdu Foundation, we participated in the conference “A Dose of Knowledge from EBM.”
The acronym EBM stands for “Evidence-Based Medicine,” which is an extremely important approach that uses the scientific method to organize and apply current data to improve healthcare decisions. In this way, the best available scientific knowledge is combined with the clinical experience of healthcare professionals and the patient’s values to arrive at the best medical decision for the patient.
Such meetings provide a wealth of knowledge based on scientific evidence, and it is both worthwhile and necessary to discuss science in the context of women’s health and rights. It was also an opportunity to listen to the perspectives and messages of doctors and lawyers. Members of the Sejm and Senate also attended the event, and those who were unable to attend received an online recording of the entire event.
The president of our Foundation, Ewa Daros, attended the conference alongside Mariola Wantuch from Krakovi (Małopolska Institute for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Infertility).
