The beginning of this week was marked by an important and much-needed meeting dedicated to the issue of violence against children and youth.
An event co-organized by the OliEdu Foundation took place at High School No. 2 in the Janusz Korczak School Complex No. 1 in Łańcut, attended by students, parents, educators, and invited guests. Together, we discussed peer violence, cyber threats, and legal and social responsibility.
The central focus of the meeting was a debate during which the following issues, among others, were addressed:
- forms and possible causes of violence against minors (both peer-to-peer and non-peer-to-peer),
- civil and criminal liability of minors,
- the role of the school when violence is uncovered,
- the duties and responsibilities of parents and guardians,
- the importance of violence prevention.
The OliEdu Foundation for Civic Education has been actively involved for years in initiatives supporting the educational community in combating peer violence and cyberbullying. During this meeting, the Foundation was represented by:
- Karol Zawiślak, Ph.D. in Law,
- and Ilona Obrączka, psychologist.
By combining legal and psychological perspectives, participants had the opportunity not only to gain knowledge but also to ask questions and share experiences.
Together, we say STOP to violence and emphasize that response, education, and preventive measures have a real impact on the safety of children and youth.
