On a day like today, Fat Thursday, it’s not just the sweet traditions that matter—but also making wise choices!

Fat Thursday is one of the sweetest days of the year. Doughnuts, angel wings, and other treats tempt us at every turn. After all, tradition, joy, and celebrating together are an important part of our lives.

It’s also a good time to pause for a moment and reflect on our daily eating habits.

Overweight and obesity are among the biggest health challenges today—affecting both adults and children. Their consequences aren’t just a matter of appearance, but above all, of health:

  • an increased risk of type 2 diabetes,
  • high blood pressure,
  • heart disease,
  • and joint problems.

For this reason, at the OliEdu Foundation, which promotes health through education and prevention, we’d like to remind you:

  • one doughnut isn’t the problem—the problem lies in daily, unconscious choices,
  • healthy habits are built one small step at a time,
  • prevention starts with knowledge and consistency.

How can we celebrate wisely?

  • Let’s choose our favorite donut and enjoy it—without feeling guilty.

And then:

  • Let’s make sure to eat balanced meals throughout the day.
  • Let’s find time for physical activity—a walk, a workout, or an activity with the family.
  • Let’s talk to our children and loved ones about a healthy lifestyle, setting a good example for them.

Fat Thursday is just one day.
Healthy habits are an investment for life.
Nutrition education and regular preventive care are the key to a healthier society. Let’s take care of ourselves and our loved ones.

Because health isn’t a trend. It’s a foundation.
