Did you know that an estimated 10% of newborns are born with various disorders or diseases?

On the other hand, “prevention is the most neglected area in Poland,” said Prof. Teresa Jackowska during an online meeting we attended this month as the Coalition for RSV Infection Prevention.

Modern medicine makes it possible to protect both children and adults against the RSV virus. Preventive healthcare is very important not only for parents and doctors, but above all for infants.

The goals of RSV prevention, which we are working toward together, include:

  • reducing the number of hospitalizations,
  • relieving the burden on hospitals,
  • reducing healthcare system costs,
  • limiting antibiotic use,
  • and promoting reliable, science-based knowledge about preventive healthcare.

We believe in the power of substantive collaboration and the changes we can bring about for the youngest children. This will not only enable their healthy development but also reduce parents’ absences from work and lower the cost of child care benefits.
Let’s remember—when a child gets sick, the whole family suffers.

For this reason, our goal is to develop a systemic solution that will contribute to the implementation of a National Program for RSV Prevention and help reduce the number of infections caused by this virus. It is particularly dangerous during the fall and winter seasons, so it’s important to protect your child against it.
