As part of the #invitroHistorieMaMY initiative, we present the stories of patients who share their experiences and feelings related to the in vitro procedure.

"Hello everyone, our story began in 2017/2018. After getting married, my husband and I started trying to have a baby. Unfortunately, after a few months of trying, it wasn’t working out. But that’s normal, after all (that’s how we explained it to ourselves back then). However, more months and years went by, and still nothing :(. It was really disheartening when you want something so badly, but unfortunately, it just doesn’t work out. That’s when I started doing my own research. I felt we were going to need professional help. After an intensive search, I found the right clinic in Kraków. Honestly, we couldn’t have found a better one. The entire team at the clinic is made up of truly wonderful people who genuinely want to help. My husband and I scheduled our first appointment in 2020. Everything was explained to us in detail, step by step. We started with tests; the ladies who work in the lab and the midwives are simply angels—always smiling, helpful, and empathetic. The doctors and embryologists are wonderful people with a wealth of knowledge.  In our case, we started with insemination. After one unsuccessful insemination, my husband, the doctor, and I decided to try IVF. And it was a bull’s-eye :). The doctor prepared me for the procedure, and it worked on the first try. I got pregnant—just as I’d hoped. Our daughter was born in 2021. If anyone has any reservations about IVF, please don’t be afraid. If we had to make this decision again, we’d definitely do the same thing—only much sooner—because it’s really worth it."

"We tried to conceive with the clinic’s help for 5 years. Based on the test results, the doctor immediately suggested IVF, but we hesitated, which cost us a lot of money and time. The constant tests, hopes, and monthly checkups took a toll on our health and the state of our relationship. Natural attempts and inseminations ended in biochemical pregnancies or miscarriages. IVF was our last hope. If we’d known five years earlier that everything would happen so quickly and that after nine months we’d be happy—albeit sleep-deprived—parents, we wouldn’t have wasted that time. Thanks to IVF, we have two wonderful, healthy, and joyful children! It’s like a typhoon has hit our house, but hearing a cheerful “good morning :D” in the morning is everything we could have ever dreamed of! We had concerns about the success of the procedure and how our loved ones would react, but now we know that public opinion, money, or hundreds of injections are nothing compared to the wonderful stories that are unfolding thanks to the presence of these little ones in our family.”
