How does physical activity promote health, social integration, and help students combat excess weight?

As it turns out, sports do more than just improve fitness! In an era of growing concerns about physical inactivity and obesity among children and adolescents, physical activity is no longer just an add-on to education. It has become an essential part of it. At the OliEdu Foundation, we have long demonstrated that sports can be a source of joy, motivation, and tangible support for health—physical, emotional, and social. We do this through our educational, social, and health initiatives.

This is also perfectly confirmed by the feedback from teachers and school principals whose students participated in the sports activities and programs organized by our Foundation at the Fun & Food Forum.

What Do Schools Say? Voices from the Field

The survey responses are incredibly encouraging to us and demonstrate the multifaceted impact of well-planned physical activities:

  • “Above all, they bring the class together, teach positive competition, and foster teamwork.”
  • “They help combat stress and boost self-esteem.”
  • “Building cooperation, communication, and friendships.”
  • “Shared experiences, memories, and greater motivation for future activities.”

These words clearly show that sports are much more than just fun.

Physical activity as the foundation of health and regular exercise offer many benefits:

  • it supports the proper development of children and adolescents,
  • helps combat overweight and obesity,
  • improves fitness, coordination, and physical endurance,
  • and teaches healthy habits that pay off in adulthood.

During group outings and sports activities, students move naturally and joyfully, often without even realizing that they are doing something very good for their health.

Emotions, Relationships, and Self-Esteem

Sports also provide tremendous support for mental health. Teachers note that students:

  • cope better with stress,
  • become more self-confident,
  • learn cooperation and empathy,
  • and build relationships based on trust and mutual support.

Shared activities outside the school walls create memories and bonds that cannot be built solely at a school desk.

Discovering passions and new ways to spend time

For many students, participating in sports activities is their first exposure to new forms of physical activity. It is then that:

  • they discover new hobbies,
  • they see that sports can be fun,
  • and they begin to view physical activity as an appealing way to spend their time.

We work for health at the OliEdu Foundation!

We believe that sports, excitement, and true integration can make a real difference in the school environment. That’s why we create a space where:

  • classes become a team,
  • students improve their health and self-confidence,
  • and teachers receive real support in their educational work.

Thank you to the schools for their trust and wonderful feedback.

Because movement equals health. And a healthy, integrated class is the future worth investing in today!
